Description
Draping is what happens when fabric is allowed to fall instead of being cut to a shape. This dress uses it twice: softly across the front of the bodice, and again as a gathered accent at one side of the waist, which pulls the whole line slightly off symmetry.
The neckline is off the shoulder with a pleated fold-over edge that holds its structure across the collarbone — the one firm element in a dress that is otherwise all soft. Below the fitted bodice the skirt runs straight and long to the floor, in a smooth fabric with a clean fall.
